TMS: An Effective Depression Treatment Alternative
Revolutionary Treatment for Major Depressive Disorder
Are you struggling with depression and feeling like traditional treatments are failing to provide relief? Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy may be the solution you’ve been looking for. At Anew Era TMS & Psychiatry, we offer safe, effective, and personalized TMS therapy to help you achieve lasting relief from depression.
What is TMS?
TMS therapy is a cutting-edge alternative for individuals who have not found relief from traditional treatments for major depressive disorder (MDD). TMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the mood center of the brain, which increases activity in the prefrontal cortex, an area that is typically underactive in people with depression. Over time, this increased activity leads to a rebalancing of brain chemistry and an improvement in symptoms. TMS is non-invasive and does not require anesthesia, making it a safe and comfortable alternative to traditional treatments.
The Benefits of TMS Therapy
TMS therapy offers a number of benefits over traditional treatments for depression. These benefits include:
- High success rates: TMS has been shown to be effective in up to 70% of patients with MDD.
- Fewer side effects: TMS does not have the side effects commonly associated with antidepressant medications, such as weight gain, nausea, and sexual dysfunction.
- Non-invasive: TMS is a non-invasive procedure that does not require anesthesia or sedation.
- No downtime: You can resume your normal activities immediately after a TMS session.
- Long-lasting results: Many patients experience long-lasting relief from depression after completing a course of TMS therapy.

TMS Treatment: Reduction of Symptoms

The graph above depicts the results of TMS Therapy on the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) standardized assessments, illustrating the significant improvements experienced by the patient.
Prior to receiving TMS treatments, the patient had a PHQ-9 score of 22, indicating a high level of depression, and a GAD-7 score of 12, reflecting moderate generalized anxiety disorder. However, after completing the TMS therapy sessions, both scores showed a remarkable decrease.
The PHQ-9 score reduced to 6, signifying a significant improvement in the patient’s depressive symptoms, while the GAD-7 score dropped to 4, indicating a notable reduction in generalized anxiety levels.
These findings highlight the effectiveness of TMS therapy in alleviating depression and anxiety, underscoring its potential as a valuable treatment option for individuals experiencing these mental health conditions.
