Diane Rodriguez, PMHNP-BC, is an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about helping individuals feel heard, understood, and supported throughout their mental health journey. She works with individuals experiencing concerns such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, bipolar disorder, and sleep difficulties. Diane believes that mental health care should be collaborative and individualized, with treatment guided by each person’s unique experiences, needs, and goals.
Diane takes a compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach to care. She combines evidence-based psychiatric treatment and medication management with therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, supportive therapy, and behavioral activation. Her goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns, asking questions, and taking an active role in decisions about their treatment.
Her clinical background includes outpatient psychiatry, psychiatric urgent care and crisis stabilization, Veterans Affairs, and community mental health. Diane has also completed NeuroStar Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Foundational Clinical Training. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing in Psychiatric Mental Health from California State University, Long Beach, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. She later participated in UCLA’s Nursing Professoriate Pathway Program, where she conducted research alongside PhD faculty examining adverse childhood experiences and mental health care utilization.
During an initial appointment, patients can expect Diane to take the time to understand not only their symptoms, but also their experiences, concerns, and priorities for treatment. She works collaboratively with patients to develop thoughtful treatment plans and provides education so they can better understand their mental health and treatment options. Diane’s goal is to help each patient build greater confidence in managing their mental health and work toward meaningful, sustainable improvements in their well-being and quality of life.
